Ruth is pregnant and discovers she has cancer. She ignores her partner Maureen’s appeals to abandon the pregnancy and focus on her cancer. Twenty years later, their daughter Joanne and Maureen navigate the complicated effects of Ruth’s choices and their impact on her partner and daughter.
